Te Piringa translates as "the coming together of people". The Faculty has over 900 students and 40 staff and is housed in a contemporary, purpose-built facility. The QS World University Rankings rank the Faculty in the top 250 law schools in the world.
The Faculty of Law is looking for a Lecturer whose role will include responsibility for our Pacific students as the Pacific Academic Advisor. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to the recruitment, retention and achievement of Pacific students.
You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate papers with a particular focus on Pacific Peoples and the Law. Other areas of interest are Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law and Family Law. You will have demonstrated teaching experience, a developing or strong research record with a focus on the Pacific, and the ability to contribute to postgraduate student supervision.
It is essential that you have a LLB or JD degree or equivalent and an LLM (or equivalent professional experience), with a PhD preferable. The ability to communicate effectively with students and staff along with a willingness to engage with Pacific communities both within and outside the University are key attributes.
Current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$74,034 to $89,163 per year.
