The Health Quality & Safety Commission is seeking to appoint a Senior Data Analyst for the Suicide Mortality Review Committee.
The Senior Data Analyst role will secure the best possible analysis and reporting for the Suicide Mortality Review Committee to support it as a Mortality Review Committee and the Commission to achieve their statutory objectives.
The ideal candidate will have an expert knowledge of New Zealand health data sets, especially those relevant to suicide, proven strong statistical analysis skills and experience in analysis of data on target populations, particularly Māori communities. The candidate will also have an understanding of the factors that influence population health and equity of access to health services.
A talent for communicating complex data at a strategic and operational level is critical, as well as influencing stakeholders and supporting panels and committees of experts.
You will excel in working in partnership with multiple stakeholders with a high level of skill in problem solving, conceptual thinking and distilling ideas to inform decision-making.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential as well as a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience related to this role.
The Health Quality & Safety Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and disability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore outcomes for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
