Experience Wellington is a registered charity established by Wellington City Council as a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) to manage and develop its cultural and arts visitor experiences. We run six extraordinary visitor experiences: Capital E, Space Place at Carter Observatory, City Gallery Wellington, Nairn Street Cottage, Wellington Museum and the Cable Car Museum. We also support the operation of the New Zealand Cricket Museum and Hannah Playhouse.
We are looking for an experienced Executive Adviser to help us achieve our vision of Engaged Curious Communities. This is a leadership role reporting to the Chief Executive and focused on governance support, stakeholder relationships and accountability and advancing our strategic priorities. Core responsibilities include:
Ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness in the support and advice provided to the Board and Chief Executive.
Meeting corporate accountability obligations through the preparation of reports, the annual Statement of Intent and Annual Report.
Leading or assisting with projects that have an organisation-wide impact and contribute to the achievement of our Strategic Plan.
The role would suit a high-performing, well organised individual who is a skilled communicator and influencer. You will be an analytical thinker with excellent research and writing skills used to preparing papers for senior executives and governors. You will have worked with a board, ideally within a local or central government context and you will have experience in leading or being part of a project team.
