Experience Wellington is a registered charity established by Wellington City Council as a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) to manage and develop its cultural and arts visitor experiences. We run six extraordinary visitor experiences: Capital E, Space Place at Carter Observatory, City Gallery Wellington, Nairn Street Cottage, Wellington Museum and the Cable Car Museum. We also support the operation of the New Zealand Cricket Museum and Hannah Playhouse.

Join the marketing team as our amazing graphic designer for three days a week, working with the team and others within the organisation to promote four of Wellington’s must-do attractions.
The graphic designer works within the marketing team, alongside two marketing specialists. Based at Space Place in the Wellington Botanical Gardens, however connecting with other teams will require movement between all four attractions, but mostly Wellington Museum.
If you think you are up for the challenge, have a minimum of three years design experience, can work within existing brand guidelines but have the creative flair to deal with our many creative events for different audiences across Wellington Museum, Space Place, Nairn Street Cottage and Cable Car Museum, then please apply.
We are looking for a person who can bring tradition design skills and digital design skills to work on a number of different projects. A typical day is designing a digital advertisement, conceptual graphics for a new music event, working with team members to nut out a creative campaign to maintain great visitor numbers, build a storyboard to support the organisation engage with Wellington communities and finishing the day working on a billboard.
Skills, experience and qualities required for this role:
You will display an in-depth knowledge of the design process, working under (reasonable) pressure, designing for consumer, exhibition and outcomes as opposed to just aesthetics.
You can work across digital and traditional design platforms that are aligned to our current aesthetic.
You are an amazing communicator that can quickly understand what each business unit needs and share your creative design to support and enthuse them.
You preferably understand how to deliver bi-cultural communications. A good knowledge of te reo would be an advantage.
