Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference for the health of Pacific peoples living in Aotearoa New Zealand? Are you an experienced senior adviser, well networked into Pacific communities with the ability to provide evidence-based advice and plan and deliver projects?
Who are we looking for?
PHARMAC is committed to eliminating inequitable access to medicines. Our Pacific Responsiveness Strategy is a key part of delivering on that commitment. We are looking for someone to take a lead role in shaping and implementing the Strategy, which aims to ensure that 'every Pacific person in Aotearoa New Zealand has access to, and understands the use of, the PHARMAC-funded medicines or medical devices they need'. In your first six-twelve months in the role this will involve reviewing the success of the Strategy's first three-year action plan, and shaping up the second phase of the Strategy's implementation.
You will be an experienced senior adviser with good knowledge of Pacific health trends, an interest in and understanding of the drivers of health inequities, excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships, and the ability to shape and deliver projects and action plans. A strong network and the ability to engage and co-design with and deliver for Pacific communities is essential. An intermediate level or above proficiency in a Pacific language would be an advantage.
The work environment
You will be part of our small, multi-disciplinary Access Equity team, who are passionate about equitable access to medicines and achieving the best health outcomes for populations experiencing disparities. We use evidence, data, clinical experience and the voices of the community to shape and inform our work. We work together, we value a range of views and experiences and we have fun while making a difference!
Applications close 9am Monday 19 August 2019.
