The Kaiarahi (clinical) - Taranaki Primary Connections (TPC) will advise, educate and provide support to primary care practitioners and other referrers to ensure whānau have access to care that appropriately meets their clinical and cultural needs and ensure effective communication and follow up with referrers is maintained. The Kaiarahi is not expected to carry a caseload.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Qualifications approved by a health or social service professional body, with a current annual practicing certificate; or
Health Professionals regulated by the Health Practitioner Assurance Act 2003 and amendments
A minimum 2 years post-registration experience working with whanau in the community with mental health and/or AOD illnesses of mild to moderate severity preferred
High level of data entry, reporting and administrative skill are required as is good communication skills
An understanding of Māori culture and protocols would be an advantage
Experience working with Māori communities and It would also be advantageous if you have an established understanding of, and network within our local Māori communities.
Full driver’s license is preferred.
