About the role
Nelson Marlborough Health's (NMH's) GM Māori Health and Vulnerable Populations is building a centre of excellence in Māori Health in the top of the South Island and has accelerated the appointment of several new positions to enable this vision to become a working reality.
We are seeking applications for the exciting role of Portfolio Manager within our Te Waka Hauora - Māori Health and Vulnerable Populations team. This role will have a specific, but not exclusive, emphasis on Māori Maternal and Child Health. You will work out of Pae Ora, our Nelson based offices, but will have a district-wide focus across the Nelson Marlborough region, requiring travel.
The role will be diverse in nature and will require project management of a range of programmes of action that seek to improve Māori Maternal/ Child Health in the areas of safe sleep, smoke free, immunisation, healthy homes, oral health, hauora direct warrant of fitness and much, much more. So experience in this type of work is essential.
You will have a sound understanding of tikanga Māori, a health background and experience in child and/or maternal health and running or facilitating community projects. It would also be an asset if you had an established understanding of, and network within, our local Māori communities.
