Competition & Operations Manager Role with Canterbury Rugby League
Rich in history, Canterbury Rugby League (CRL) was formed in 1912 and is still operating 112 years on. A non-for-profit organisation; we are responsible for the organisation and delivery of Rugby League in the greater Canterbury Region. We have a proud and successful history in developing administrators, officials, coaches and players.
We cater from nursery grade (3 years old +) through to presidents grade (40 years old+). We select Canterbury boys’ and girls’ youth teams whilst our pinnacle teams are the Canterbury Men’s and Women’s Bulls teams that play in national competitions.

Competition & Operations Manager - key responsibilities include:
Competition Management: Lead the planning and delivery of all CRL competitions and tournaments including the management of competition draws and results.
Event Management: Lead the planning and delivery of all CRL events whilst adhering to health and safety policies and procedures
Representative Programmes: Lead logistical operations to all CRL representative programmes
Communications: Lead the delivery of CRL’s communications plan including the management of social media content on CRL’s platforms
Relationships: Foster collaborative and constructive relationships with clubs, schools, tertiary institutions, districts and NZRL
Volunteer Capability: Lead the delivery of volunteer capability
What will help you become appointed to this role:
5+ years’ work experience
A passion for rugby league
Understanding of the online Sporty system
Experience in project/event planning
Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise
Adaptability and a solution-focused approach
Willingness to work some hours outside normal work hours is required
An ability to work in a fast-paced environment
