We are looking for a permanent Database Administrator to join our Security, Infrastructure & Applications team.

An ideal opportunity for someone who is seeking to be part of a close-knit team. You will provide support by managing and maintaining TEC's Hybrid and SQL database environments. This role is appropriate for someone who has some experience in Database Administration and looking to develop their skills by be involved in some exciting pieces of work. If you are new to Database Administration and are looking for your next opportunity, we would still welcome an application from you.
Responsible for ensuring that applications and databases are responsive to the demands of the business.
Ensuring effective investigation and resolving of all Microsoft SQL production issues.
Support all database administration activities including maintaining base information tables, performing routine audits, operational reporting & dashboarding.
Provide back-up support to Cloud Database Engineer in both the UAT and production environments.
Support all database content migration, Database optimization and general database maintenance tasks.

We are looking for someone with experience in the following:
At least 2-3+ years' experience in administering and maintaining an MS SQL/Server database environment.
Experience on managing SQL Server versions 2008 - 2019.
Solid experience using Azure SQL Databases and Azure SQL Managed Instances and cloud based database
Ability to think conceptually and be able to outline a clear course of action to address complex, SQL Server related issues.
Experience in using a variety of Query and Analysis tools, including an understanding of SQL
A genuine desire to share knowledge with others in the team

At TEC we are committed to supporting a range of flexible working arrangements to help staff manage their work and personal commitments, we also expect team members to be in the office at least three days per week to help collaboration.
The salary range for this position is $87,997 to $103,526 + 3% KiwiSaver which is negotiable depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
