About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
As a Research & Evaluation Specialist, you are a vital part of the Le Va team, reporting to the Research and Evaluation Manager, this exciting new role is an important part of our future. Contributing to research, monitoring and evaluation of Le Va’s primary prevention programmes, this role supports organisational learning. The Research and Evaluation Specialist will ensure Le Va is demonstrating what works for whom, and the value of Le Va’s work, as well as generating new evidence to make the needs and aspirations of Pacific communities more visible.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday – Friday, Based in Harakeke House, Manukau.

We’re looking for a member for our Le Va aiga who is a team player, appreciates our humour, and is driven by strong social justice values. You will bring rigour and critical thinking to research and evaluation, while keeping people, culture, and community at the heart of your work.
Essential:
Relevant tertiary qualification in research, evaluation, social sciences, health or a related field.
At least three to five years’ experience in research and/or evaluation, with demonstrated excellence in report writing.
Sound statistical knowledge with applied experience in quantitative analysis.
Demonstrated application of the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in research, evaluation and community engagement.
Strong values base supporting inclusive and culturally responsive ways of working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Experience in research and/or evaluation involving partnering with Pacific peoples and/or tangata whenua.
Preferred:
Experience using quantitative analysis software such as SPSS, R, SAS, or Stata.
Research and/or evaluation experience in community or social sectors, such as mental health and wellbeing or suicide prevention.
Current full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
Knowledge of holistic health models and frameworks that recognise the interconnectedness of physical, social, cultural, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
