About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional to join our dynamic Te Tai Tokerau team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Kaitāia office.

You will work with our ECE sector to increase participation and improve quality outcomes for our tamariki. You will follow Ministry processes to assess regulatory framework, including the engagement with and assessment of providers for prospective and existing EC Centres for licensing and certification.

You will also be monitoring compliance of Early Childhood Centres, responding to complaints and providing advice and support to the ECE sector as well as have opportunity to manage portfolios across the region.

Salary range: $84,425 - $102,271 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

We are looking for a team member who has the drive and experience to coordinate work aimed at ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate in high quality early childhood education. You will need a thorough understanding of early childhood education and legislation and the ability to respond rapidly to complex situations.

You will have the ability to lead and influence the sector, and work within communities to support the focus on enhancing educational outcomes for children.

You will also offer:

  • In depth knowledge and experience working with Te Whāriki.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent relationship management skills.

  • The ability to work well within a team.

  • The ability to analyse complex issues.

  • Experience working across a wide range of early learning services and contexts.

  • Understanding of Early Childhood regulatory framework and assessment process is an advantage, not essential.

  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

You will also hold a tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or other relevant discipline.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

Te Mahau | Te Tai Raro is a frontline group. Our frontline groups will collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services, such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services.
