Rarely do opportunities like this come up to join an amazing team and make a real impact. This is a unique role which you will develop over the next twelve months and will change the face of how people with disabilities gain meaningful employment.
You will be a passionate, self starter with commitment, empathy and understanding of the experience of disabled people and a belief in the Accessibility Tick Programme values and purpose.
Your demonstrated CRM experience will be required as you will be forming relationships with employers, and supporting organisations to improve their “Disability Confidence” with regard to their recruitment and retention of job seekers with disabilities. This will include providing advice and guidance to improve their ongoing capability to employ people with disabilities.
A proven record of delivering on targets and driven to achieving results; you must be strategic in your approach, together with a problem-solving attitude and the ability to motivate and influence others, whilst creating a strong teamwork ethos. Knowledge and understanding of the government and private health and disability sector would be an advantage.
Also required is your administrative support of the Bay of Plenty Inclusive Employment Task Force (the Task Force), coordinating with the Chair, organising meetings, minute taking and reporting.
The Task Force has wide expertise and knowledge of employment within the disability sector, with multiagency representation from Central and Local Government.
Preferably you will be tertiary qualified, but you must have a good understanding of business, strong business writing skills and the ability to drive the direction of this initiative over the next twelve months (with the prospect of an extension thereafter). There is a requirement to drive throughout the BOP region regularly and occasionally to Auckland, so you must have a valid driver’s license.

The Health Quality & Safety Commission is seeking to appoint a Senior Specialist Advisor to lead the Family Violence Death Review Committee (FVDRC) team and apply family violence content expertise to ensure the development and maintenance of a sustainable, quality, family violence death review system for New Zealand, with an emphasis on partnership, shared process, developing a strong evidence base and positive change outcomes likely to reduce family violence.
The ideal candidate will have an in depth understanding of the complexities of family violence and the impact of family violence has on families and in particular Māori communities. Your ability to navigate confidently in both the Māori and non-Māori worlds and a confidence in te reo me ona tikanga, or a willingness to learn and build these skills, will be essential to your success in this role.
Key focus areas of the role are:
· Leading family violence related policy work on behalf of the Commission and in partnership with the FVDRC
· Providing strategic advice to the Committee, the Commission Board, Ministers and key stakeholders
· Providing an in depth understanding of the complexity and dynamics of family violence to all aspects of the family violence death review work, with a particular focus on the FVDRCs findings in the 4th and 5th reports. These can be found at: https://www.hqsc.govt.nz/our-programmes/mrc/fvdrc/
· Ensuring the development and implementation of a systematic, sustainable, family violence death review process for single case reviews and / or the development of information collection and management to support case ascertainment and full dataset development on all cases
· Fully engaging partners in the development and ongoing improvement of processes and in implementing change as a result of learnings
· Ensuring that relevant data and the findings of review processes are gathered and provided for aggregated analysis through well documented systems
· Ensuring best practice governance processes are supported, including the development of high quality governance advice to support the FVDRC
The successful applicant will make a major contribution in influencing the sector and making linkages between the strategic and operational space. Having expert knowledge of the Family Violence sector and being able to see things through a social justice lens is critical to the success of these roles, as is excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
