Jackson Owens Drops Captivating New Track, 'Now Forever,'

Māori Soul and R&B artist, Jackson Owens, is once again making waves in the Aotearoa music industry with the release of his latest single, 'Now Forever’.

Fresh off the heels of his AMA nomination and highly successful debut EP, 'For The Better,' Jackson (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Awa, Te Arawa, Ngāi Tahu) is excited to introduce this soulful, heartfelt anthem – the first track from a new upcoming EP.

'Now Forever' holds a special place in Jackson's heart, as he collaborated on the track with his brother Chauncey. Tūrangi-born Jackson says his family deeply inspires his music career, and the creative partnership between him and Chauncey made ‘Now Forever’ especially meaningful.

"Working with Chauncey on 'Now Forever' was a truly special experience. Writing music is always a vulnerable process, so working on it with my brother just felt right."

With over 15 million Spotify streams, 202,000 monthly listeners, music chart success, nationwide tours, and an AMA nomination – all before the release of a debut album – the release of ‘Now Forever’ signifies the next step in Jackson’s musical journey.

“I hope people connect with the track through its storytelling, and it makes them feel less alone in what they’re going through,” Jackson says.

“The writing of Now Forever felt completely organic. The song embodies the essence of fighting for a lasting connection that transcends time.”

With its infectious beat, anthemic chorus, and Jackson's signature soulful voice, 'Now Forever' showcases Jackson’s remarkable talent and artistry, and references some of Jackson’s biggest influences: Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Daniel Caesar and Stevie Wonder.

Jackson’s favourite part of the track is the second verse, and how it changes up the melody, while Chauncey loves the breakdown at the end of the track.

“I also really like the key line in the chorus: ‘Why don’t we make our forever’. I think it’s a nice little nugget that people will connect with,” adds Chauncey.

'Now Forever' is now available for streaming on all platforms.
