Ōwhata 2B & 7 Ahuwhenua Trusts Appoints New General Manager

ROTORUA, Monday 12th February 2024: Ōwhata 2B & 7 Ahuwhenua Trusts has appointed Alicia Adler (Ngāti Rangitihi, Ngāti Manawa, Te Arawa, Pasifika) as its inaugural General Manager.

Jason Rogers, chairman of Ōwhata 2B & 7 Ahuwhenua Trusts says Adler brings a wealth of management experience spanning over 30 years in the retirement sector, resident management, design & development and health services.

“The Trusts have grown substantially over the past couple of years with the development of 93 mixed tenure homes in Owhata, currently underway for civil works.  Alicia’s skills and experience will help manage the delivery of the housing project and scale up operations which will benefit the Iwi and the Trusts” he says.

Ōwhata 2B & 7 Ahuwhenua Trust also operates a tree nursery on its whenua under a lease arrangement with PF Olsen.

Adler says it is a privilege to work alongside the Trustees, who for decades have been kaitiaki of the whenua.

“They have done an incredible job of growing the opportunities for the Iwi, bringing people together and empowering the community. I’m really looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and contributing to this positive momentum,” she says.

Jason Rogers, Chairman of Ōwhata 2B & 7 Trust says the Iwi can be pleased with Alicia’s appointment and her leadership capabilities will help build on the achievements to date and foster mana within the wider community.

In December last year, Ōwhata Kohanga Rākau celebrated a major milestone with its housing plans, securing resource consent to start civil works for roading, water and utilities.  The first homes will be completed by 2025.
