Advisor Operational Investment & Contracts: Kaitohutohu (fixed-term)

The Operational Investment & Contracts team works closely with other key areas to be a centre of expertise regarding the performance of on-Plan Tertiary Education Organisations (TEO) The team conducts funding assessments, coordinates, and supports the funding decision processes. The team also writes investment related official Correspondence and briefings.

The team provides a year-round view of TEO performance, both through the assessment process as part of the annual investment round, but also through ongoing performance monitoring and analysis.

This is a fixed-term role through to 24 April 2026 to cover a permanent staff member who has been seconded to another area of the business.

He angitūtanga: What will you be doing?

This role requires you to work across the TEC's customer facing teams and other key stakeholders to develop engagement material for our investment round, making this a critical role in providing key business information.

  • The use of high-quality business information to complete TEO funding assessments.

  • Developing written investment related content for relationship teams to engage with TEOs regarding funding and performance.

  • Work across internal teams to get the information needed to produce quality content to make funding recommendations.

  • Drafting of communications to TEO including funding letters.

  • Coordination of functions in relation to annual investment round, funding assessments, decision panels, communications to TEO including funding letters wash-up processes.

  • Drafting documents e.g. official ministerial correspondence documents and briefing documents.

He kōrero mōu: What will you bring to the role?

This role is ideal for someone with recent experience as an Associate Advisor or Advisor in the Public Service who understands the machinery of government and how agencies work together to deliver outcomes. You will bring the following:

  • Excellent written communication skills, including writing accurate and engaging written content that is tailored for the audience, including internal and ministerial stakeholders.

  • An ability to analyse complex business information and comfortable with applying judgement and making recommendations.

  • Able to use business data and information to develop robust business decision and support content through ongoing performance monitoring and analysis.

  • Experience of collaborating with multiple teams across a business to deliver quality work.

  • Customer focussed and commitment to continual improvement.

The salary range for this position starts from $86,769 up to $102,081 + 3% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
