Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an inspiring leader to step into a newly created role as Te Pākatitia - Principal Adviser, Māori within Te Pātaka Kōrero - The Library on a permanent contract.

As a Kaitakawaenga you will play a critical role in our region’s Learning Support team by:  

Working proactively with Māori tamariki, mokopuna and their whānau, hāpu and iwi, educators, and Learning Support colleagues to identify and eliminate barriers to access to learning support services for Māori students with learning support needs.

 The purpose of Kaupapa Kura Taiao group is to drive transformational change in the EPA, guided by Te Ao Māori and excellent regulatory practice aligned with He Whetū Mārama.

This is a fixed term hybrid / on-site role for 6 months   

The Senior Advisor Māori Policy and Operations reports to the Manager Māori Engagement within the Māori Policy and Operations team.  

Reporting directly to the Manager Media Engagement, our Kaitohutohu Pāpāho Māori will work across the University, and promote, across the University, the incorporation and actioning of the Māori Strategic Framework.
