AUT’s Office of Māori Advancement plays a pivotal role in shaping our future by championing Mātauranga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi across the university. Working in close partnership with Māori staff, students, mana whenua, iwi, and Māori communities, the office provides strategic leadership to academic and professional divisions, supports research that delivers real benefits for Māori, and works with faculties to embed Māori pathways and perspectives.

You will be a motivated and customer-focused individual, competent in te reo and tikanga Māori, and with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external.

The University of Waikato is seeking an experienced and influential Māori educational leader to join the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic as Associate Director Pou Mātauranga.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Māori student success and an understanding of culturally responsive, relationship-based approaches to student support. They will be confident engaging with tauira Māori, whānau, staff, and key stakeholders, and will bring a professional, organised, and proactive approach to the role.
