Design & Creative Manager - Multiple Locations

We're looking for a Design and Creative Manager to lead our talented in-house Creative Hub team, drive brand-aligned creative strategy, and manage impactful design and creative projects across digital, print, moving image, and experience platforms. If you're an expert at juggling ideas, people, and timelines - and love getting on the tools when needed - this role is for you.

Salary band for this role is $80,984 - $113,805 based on skills and experience. The role location is based on one of our three beautiful campuses, Albany Auckland, Wellington or Palmerston North.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading ideation, strategy, and creative execution for brand-level initiatives

  • Developing concepts and producing creative content in partnership with internal stakeholders, internal resources and creative agencies

  • Managing and mentoring a small Creative Hub team responsible for bringing the vision of the brand to life in new and exciting ways

  • Upholding and evolving Massey's brand guidelines and brand architecture, with a key focus on building Te Tiriti-led design practices

  • Collaborating across marketing, communications, events, alumni, and more

What you'll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in design or equivalent is essential

  • Minimum 10 years' design and creative production experience, including team leadership

  • Exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, video production software, workflow management and other leading creative applications

  • Experience in creating marketing and design assets across various channels for both advertising and brand executions

  • A deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a passion for inclusive, sustainable design and production

  • Experience in the tertiary education sector and a strong understanding of Toi Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo is highly desirable

  • Experience in an agency or design studio working in a fast paced environment also an advantage
