About our team/Mō te tīma
Whakaratoka me kā Whakariteka ā-Wahaka - Divisional Services and Administration is a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding student and staff experiences through high quality, confidential secretarial and administrative support services. You will be part of a supportive administration division providing administrative services to the Sciences Divisional Office.
The role/Te mahi
As our Kaiwhakahaere Tari, you will be the first point of contact for the Sciences Divisional Office, providing a warm, professional welcome to staff, students, and visitors.
You will support daily operations by:
delivering comprehensive administrative support across the Division
assisting Māori and Pacific student support teams administratively, contributing to a well-supported, inclusive environment
committing to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and demonstrating an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori
collaborating with the Senior Administrator and Executive Assistant on projects, tasks and general administration
offering critical administrative assistance during staff shortages where needed
managing office supplies, maintaining systems, and ensuring a well-organised workspace
handling inquiries, meeting arrangements, minute-taking, planning and logistics for travel, transactional finance activities, and other office duties as required.

We are looking for a proactive, customer focused professional, with a friendly manner, excellent relationship building and time management skills. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the University's Māori Strategic Framework and Pae Tata plans by fostering a positive environment for both tauira and kaimahi Māori to flourish.
Key skills required include the following:
Previous experience in an administration role, or a willingness to learn
Proficiency in Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga, or a willingness to increase proficiency
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to adapt and navigate new systems
Excellent organisational skills and an attention to detail.
An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students, staff, and visitors

This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week), located in Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $65,281 - 69,648. Top of range $74,947.
