About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

We’re looking for a strategic and visionary Product Manager to lead our Corporate Applications portfolio. This is a pivotal role that blends product leadership, service design, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-value digital solutions that support the Ministry’s purpose and operating model. 

As the Product Manager, you will:

  • Champion the product vision and roadmap for corporate applications, ensuring alignment with Ministry-wide strategies.

  • Lead the Product Team in co-designing and delivering fit-for-purpose solutions.

  • Serve as the conduit between stakeholders, development teams, and end users—balancing customer intent, user needs, and organisational constraints.

  • Drive product value through design thinking, customer journey mapping, and rapid experimentation.

  • Make day-to-day product decisions, define MVPs, and guide the team in sequencing business increments

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across the Ministry, including with Māori and iwi partners, to deliver equitable outcome.  

Salary range: $165,065 - $200,653 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake 

To be successful in this role you will bring leadership experience within complex organisations, and a passion for customer engagement and continuous improvement as well as - 

  • 3+ years in product management or Product Owner roles.

  • Strong strategic thinking and change leadership capabilities.

  • Expertise in project and programme management frameworks.

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable product roadmaps.

  • Financial acumen to guide investment decisions and prioritisation.

The Digital Delivery Kāhui, within Matihiko, designs and delivers innovative solutions for ministry staff and the wider education sector. We work in partnership with Māori and iwi to create digital experiences that are equitable, connected, and impactful for all learners and educators.
