Starting salary: $ 96,307 to $ 113,303 + superannuation

The role | Te tūnga  

As Senior Advisor - Direct Mail you will be part of the Communications Team within the Office of the Chief Executive. We are a centralised communications and marketing function providing strategic and tactical marketing and communications support across the organisation.   

In this role you'll work closely with the Collections Operations arm of our agency and other Communications Team members to plan and deliver direct mail marketing and communications collateral and campaigns that encourage participation and help boost survey response rates. You'll help Stats NZ bring data moments and stories to life, bringing your creativity and ideas as well as organisation, planning and attention to detail.  

What you bring | Nōu te rourou     

To be successful in this role you will:   

  • have at least seven-years' direct mail experience, and be able to demonstrate end-to-end knowledge and experience in direct mail marketing and communications from planning and inception to production and delivery  

  • be comfortable switching between big picture strategy, creative thinking and tactical marketing and communications  

  • be able to demonstrate strong writing, editing and oral communication skills including the ability to turn complex information into clear, compelling and persuasive copy. 

  • enjoy being busy and "doing the doing" 

  • demonstrate strong relationship building skills   

  • bring a can-do, whatever it takes attitude, alongside ideas, creativity and an interest in the value of data  

  • have a good understanding of economic, social and governmental influences, the political environment and other agencies and groups likely to impact on our organisation.
