The role | Te tūnga 

As Senior Advisor - Marketing and Communications you will be part of a customer-centric and collaborative comms team. From within the Office of the Chief Executive we provide strategic and tactical marketing and communications advice across the organisation.  

Reporting to the General Manager - Communications, in this role you'll develop and implement our value of data programme, building the public's understanding of Stats NZ and our products, services and surveys. You'll help Stats NZ bring data moments and stories to life; you'll bring creativity and ideas as well as organisation, planning and attention to detail.

Starting salary: $95,972 - $128,391 + superannuation

What you bring | Nōu te rourou 

To be successful in this role you'll:  

  • be a generalist marketing and communications professional with at least five-years' experience in a similar role, including campaign or programme planning

  • be comfortable switching between big picture strategy, creative thinking and tactical marketing and communications operations

  • enjoy being busy and "doing the doing"

  • have experience in developing and implementing marketing campaigns and promotional activity

  • be skilled at converting strategic, complex or technical information into clear, compelling material that's fit for purpose and audience 

  • be a plain language champion

  • demonstrate sound relationship building skills  

  • bring a can-do, whatever it takes attitude, alongside ideas, creativity and an interest in the value of data 

  • have a good understanding of economic, social and governmental influences, the political environment and other agencies and groups likely to impact on our organisation.
