About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

The Senior Desktop Support Engineer’s role (Wellington Office) is responsible for the Ministry’s SOE Desktop services including deployment of applications and services, packaging applications, desktop security patches, building / updating the standard images for the Ministry’s End User device fleet, together with support for Microsoft 365 suite. 

The Senior Desktop Support Engineer will utilise their advanced skill set to manage and administer the Desktop environment.  They will take a proactive approach in identifying opportunities to enhance the environment for our customers.

Salary range: $100,296 - $121,490 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience. 


 

About you | Mōhou ake 

Our team who are passionate about delivering exceptional desktop and application support. We are seeking individuals with experience in a desktop and application fault resolution support role, along with the following skills and experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Desktop Support role within a large Enterprise Organisation

  • Significant experience in configuration and management of devices using Intune

  • Strong experience with Office 365 for a large organisation

  • A solid understanding of Multi-Factor Authentication technology, M365, Microsoft Teams and Teams Calling.

  • Certification of end user hardware devices and peripherals

  • Experienced with Scripting and Policy Management.

  • Experience in building relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.

  • Experience in a complex organisation

  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct
