Ko tā mātou mahi | The role 

A capable, empathetic and strategic leader, with strong connections to the sector, the Senior Manager ADS is responsible for delivering the team purpose and creating a work culture where people are supported to make a significant contribution to Arts Development across our organisation and the Arts community.  

 

A key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Senior Manager ADS works collaboratively and consultatively to advance the enterprise level work of the Senior Leadership team and the Arts Council. 

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring 

Alongside your extensive knowledge of the arts sector in Aotearoa, you will be an experienced and resilient senior leader with proven success in leading a large, high-performing team.  Strong connections to and credibility within the arts sector are a must, as well as an understanding of who we are, the mahi we do and the challenges we face.

 

You will be a strategic thinker, with good judgment and political nous, and an understanding of and respect for Tikanga Māori, along with an understanding of the principles and practice of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the implications of this for CNZ’s work.  A broad understanding of diverse cultures and other ways of working is important, along with possessing the skillset to apply a multi-lensed approach to your mahi.  A key part of our Senior Leadership team, you will have the ability to make a contribution in a collective decision-making context.  Your excellent stakeholder management skills will assist you in building and developing mutually beneficial partnerships and you will be able to work effectively across cultures and functions.  This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the arts sector in Aotearoa and to embed our new funding approaches and ways of working.
