Technical Officer | Hamilton

Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

As a Technical Officer based at the Hamilton campus, your role will be pivotal in supporting teaching and research activities within the Civil Engineering field. You will prepare and maintain apparatus and materials for teaching and research, as well as train students in specialized equipment operations and techniques. You will work in collaboration with related disciplines such as Environmental Engineering in the field is anticipated, highlighting the interconnectedness of our work.

This is a full-time position, the salary will be based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. In addition to your qualification, and/or relevant experience you will preferably have: 

  • Sound understanding of the geotechnical engineering environment 

  • Experience in general laboratory practice involving teaching and research

  • Understanding of chemical handling & storage

  • Field / workplace first aid certificate

  • 4WD experience
