Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupae - Postgraduate Administrator to join Te Kura Hoahoa - School of Design Innovation’s administration team on a 10-month fixed-term, part-time (0.6 FTE) contract. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient high-level support across the postgraduate administrative processes of the School administration team.

  • Provide administrative support to the School Research Committee. 

  • Liaise with students, academic staff and the Faculty of Graduate Research to run Masters and PhD examinations and reviews. 

  • Maintain accurate, current records for Te Kura Hoahoa - School of Design Innovation students’ progress across Masters and PhD programmes.

You will be a well-organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working with a diverse group of stakeholders. You will be comfortable with working to deadlines, have an equitable and professional approach to your role, and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 

Key requirements:

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Experience communicating within the organisation and with external stakeholders or clients.

  • Experience in customer service and office administration.

  • Ability to work to a very high standard of accuracy.

  • Ability to work to deadlines.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
