We have a new Ward Clerk role to provide administrative and clerical support in the smooth running of the Cardiothoracic ICU (Ward 48) at Auckland City Hospital.  The Cardiothoracic and Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) leads New Zealand in providing specialised nursing care based on clinical skill, research, education and innovation. Our commitment is to the highest levels of clinical quality and providing the best standards of personalised care possible to our patients.

In this role, you will be:  

·  Involved with a high level of customer contact

·  Responsible for the maintenance of patient's files, arranging and monitoring patient movement.  

· Communicating, liaising and organising follow up appointments and assisting in ward management functions.

· Ordering supplied and conducting stocktaking

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following requirements:

·   A minimum of 2 years administrative/clerical experience

· Experience in the health industry is preferred

· Knowledge of hospital systems would be advantageous

· Flexible to do shift work all days of the week

· A positive 'can do' attitude and ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients

· Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure

The role is a Monday – Sunday  position (AM & PM shifts between 07:00 am to 22:30 pm)
