Ko te āhua o te tūranga | About the Role
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team you’ll report to the CEO and contribute to whole-of-organisation strategy and leadership.
Managing a team of seven, you’ll design and deliver people-focused strategies grounded in organisational values and kaupapa Māori. You’ll ensure the organisation is high-performing, inclusive, and culturally safe.
Key responsibility include:
Leading HR, Health & Safety, and workforce strategies that align with organisational priorities
Embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and kaupapa Māori into policies, systems, and workplace culture
Building and maintaining a values-led, inclusive, and high-trust organisational environment
Overseeing legal compliance, health and safety standards, and risk management
Supporting organisational change, leading corporate services, and fostering staff development
Promoting a positive workplace culture that supports staff wellbeing and whānau-centred outcomes
Ko wai koe | About You
You’re an experienced HR leader with a strong values base and a deep commitment to kaupapa Māori, Te Tiriti, and social justice. You know how to lead change, navigate complexity, and build trusted, empowered teams.
Ideally, you will bring:
10+ years’ experience in HR, including 5+ years in senior roles
Deep knowledge of HR, health & safety, employment law, compliance, and organisational change
Proven ability to manage people risk and build strong internal relationships
Understanding of the cultural and political dynamics within the social services sector
Knowledge of WAI 2750 and kaupapa related to Māori and iwi housing
A relevant tertiary qualification in HR or related field
Confidence with te reo Māori and tikanga, or a strong desire to grow in this space
