About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga 

  • Permanent Full-Time 

As the Programme Coordinator – Kā Āu Kahuraki, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a cross-agency initiative focused on tamariki wellbeing. This role is part of the Operations & Insights team and is responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination and administration of programme activities. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to keep everything running efficiently and in line with Ministry processes. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Coordinating programme planning, scheduling, and documentation to support effective delivery.

  • Providing administrative support for meetings, governance, and financial tracking.

  • Maintaining accurate records, registers, and filing systems in line with Ministry standards.

  • Supporting collaboration across agencies to ensure aligned and timely outcomes.

Salary range: $65,001- $78,395 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake 

You are a highly organised and proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. You bring a strong background in programme or project coordination, with a passion for supporting initiatives that improve outcomes for tamariki and whānau. 

You will have: 

  • Experience working in a complex organisation or multi-agency environment.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in administration, project coordination, or a related field.

  • A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence. 

To be successful in this role, you’ll be confident managing multiple priorities, building strong working relationships, and ensuring programme activities are well-coordinated and aligned with Ministry processes.

  • The ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake  

The Canterbury Te Mahau team provides leadership and integrated services to the education sector and wider communities, in alignment with national priorities such as achievement, attendance, and learning support. These services include learning support, education advice, and regulatory functions for schools and early learning services across the region. 

The Programme Coordinator- Kā Au Kahuraki role sits within the Operations & Insights team and reports to the Team Manager- Kā Au Kahuraki.  Our team is responsible for managing regional business operations and processes. The team is the critical connection point between day-to-day operational delivery and the region’s longer-term strategic direction.
