Data is everywhere, and it’s changing the way we work. Greater use of data enables strategic and operational outcomes, and supports insights and decision making. We are looking for a skilled and collaborative Senior Advisor Information Management to contribute to our data governance and information sharing mahi.
Salary range: $100,296 - $ $121,490 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
We’re looking for a candidate who is passionate about information and data and the collective benefits it can bring to the Education Sector when it is well governed and managed.
You will have excellent communication and business analysis skills with the ability to present ideas, concepts, and solutions using non technical and easily digestible language. Your passion for information and data will take our customers and stakeholders on our journey, and in partnership contribute to lifting our data governance and management maturity across the organisation and the sector.
You will also offer:
Working knowledge of emerging opportunities around data governance, information sharing, ethics, and the transparent and responsible use of data.
Experience contributing to data and information programmes of work in complex organisations in an advisory, business analyst, or information analyst capacity.
Building partnerships with key business stakeholders and our privacy, Maori data, and digital colleagues to achieve shared outcomes.
The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
You will be joining a team who are enthusiastic about data leadership, data management and quality, information sharing, and responsible and ethical use of data. We work together to provide oversight and advice across the Ministry and with our sector partners to ensure data is available to those who need it, when they need it.
The team has a wide range of knowledge and experience in the education sector as well as in data governance and management and information sharing. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is in a senior advisor or senior analyst role looking to build on their experience in an organisation where partnerships and data are at the core of our operations, and a key priority for our leadership team. This role would also suit a canaditae with a business analysis or information analysis background who wants to grow their specialist skills and build experience in data governance and management.
About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
Data and Insights leads the collection, storage, analysis, and communication of data and evidence-based insights and information for the sector. The Information Management Team provides expert advice in data governance, data management and ethics, and co-ordinates cross sector information sharing. This is core to running an effective education system and is our priority.
