About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

Education Support Workers work in partnership with the kaiako team to support the learning and development of children in early childhood settings, under the supervision of kaiako and Learning Support specialists.

This is a Fixed Term part-time role, hours and location to be confirmed and will be based in and around Dargaville and Ruawai.

Salary range: $27.03 - $30.03 per hour + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience working with pre-schoolers and/or children with additional learning needs (this position is based across various early childhood centres in the Dargaville/Ruawai area).

  • To be available to work during school hours for at least four mornings each week.

  • To have a full driver’s licence and a vehicle to drive from centre to centre.

  • To be a New Zealand citizen or be a permanent resident.

  • The role will also suit you if you have, or are working towards, an Early Childhood qualification.

  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

Te Mahau takiwā Te Tai Raro, is a frontline regional group consisting of four regions, extending from the Far North | Te Tai Tokerau to each of the three regions within the Tāmaki district | wider Auckland area.

 

We provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services.

 

Learning Support is a critical part of the Te Mahau | Te Tai Raro (North) Group within the Ministry of Education. We ensure that children and young people with additional learning needs are supported to achieve their full potential through education. Our Learning Support specialists work closely with families, whānau, caregivers, schools and early childhood educators in English and Māori medium settings and other agencies to help maximise learning outcomes and promote social inclusion.
